Happy ant season

So here in west/south Europe (coast of Portugal) is ant reproductive season. 

  Good luck to anyone trying to catch a female this year!
I myself have seen a shit tonne of males all on the brick wall of my house. (I live in a rural area) But haven't spotted many queens yet. I mean, there were a few, but I didn't have any container prepared at that moment, also they were on the ground and already in the soil looking for a place for a nest. 

  One was on the concrete and clearly lost, she still has one wing attached but the wings tend to fall eventually anyways. So I don't think the poor thing has any other issues or injuries.

  I have 2 tubes ready to be prepared and soon will buy the initial farm just so it has all the needed time to arrive and be cleaned. I'll post an update once I have the ant queens safe. Don't want to stress them with light or movement. :)))
