this is just a little page on how to do basic crocheting
to start you'll need a crochet hook and yarn.you'll notice that the hooks vary in size, that's because you'll need bigger hooks for thicker yarns.i recommend starting with an acrylic yarn, and a 5mm hook like I'm using, but feel free to use and hook size you feel comfortable with.
to start, you'll need to make a slip knot
https://m.youtube.com/shorts/vOVlLS_RegE
this video will show you how
once you have the knot, slip it onto the hook, and pull the ends so it's tight on the hook.
next, you'll wsnt to take your yarn(the strand that's connected to the skein) and wrap it around the hook, like this
now you'll want to pull the yarn thats on the bottom, over the strand you wrapped around. once you've done that,it should look like this
what you just did is called, making a chain.depending on what your going to make, you'll want to chain a certain amount. lets just start with ten.you repeat the same steps, yarn over, pull the bottoms one over, and do it again.
once you've done ten,it should look something like this
that's called making a chain, which is the base for crocheting
now your going to take your hook, still with the yarn on it,and slip it into the first chain you just made, which will give you two rings.yarn over,to make three.slip the second ring over,so you'll have two again. yarn over, and slip both over it.now youll have one,and it should look something like this
do this ten more times, into all the stiches.once you've finished that row, you'll want to chain one,by yarning over and pulling the ring through. once you've chained one,you can go back into the next stitch and do the next row, continuing the steps.do this for as many rows as you want,i only did three.
once you've finished, cut the yarn, leaving a long string.yarn over, and pull it all the way through, making sure it's tight.this is called fastening off.you can go back with a yarn needle and sew in the end if you want.and you've just learned to crochet.if you liked this blog, pps give kudos and subscribe and i will post more crochet blogs, and dm me ur creations bc I'd love to see them
