Before I begin, this list includes approximately a dozen genres, I've made it clear which albums are from which genre to the best of my abilities and knowledge but there might be a few mishaps here and there.
This is still a W.I.P. :-)
1. Visions Of Eden
Artist: Virgin Steele
Genre: Progressive, Power Metal
Year: 2006
My favourite song: Bonedust and The Hidden God.
What I like about the album: It's a layered prog album that I think deserves more attention than it got, It's an extremely deep album especially narrative wise. Depending on your belief system it can be taken in differently, it's thought provoking. I enjoy the biblical themes the album explores and the instrumentals have to be my favourite part of this entire album next to David DeFeis' HEAVENLY vocals.

Artist: Theatre Of Tragedy
Genre: Gothic, Doom-Death, Symphonic Metal
Year: 1996
My favourite song: Der Tanz der Schatten.
What I like about the album: Liv Kristine you are dream, her vocals drew me in when I first listened to this album, the slow and heavy riffs the contrast between Raymond Rohonyi's growls and Kristine's voice when sang soprano and just the dynamic! This album is a secret pleasure that I'll never get bored of.
3. Nightfall
Artist: Candlemass
Genre: Epic Doom Metal
Year: 1987
My favourite song: The Well Of Souls and Dark Are The Veils Of Death.
What I like about the album: The riffage! The instrumentals! It's just simply good doom metal. The thing that drew me in was Messiah Marcolin's vocals (vocals are really important for me if you couldn't tell by now), his voice has this dark edge to it, even with clean vocals!
4. Murder Ballads of 1816: The Year Without a Summer
Artist: American Murder Song
Genre: Folk, Murder Ballad, Dark Cabaret
Year: 2016
My favourite song: Pretty Lavinia and Six Merry Men.
What I like about the album: The concept of exploring 19th-century America through the lenses of murder ballads is literally so creative! Not to mention, this band was created by one of my favourite actors: Terrance Zdunich!
