Idk if this is helpful but reading the lyrics of ur favorite song and breaking down why u like them or trying to understand their structure is the best way to write lyrics
idk if thatβs even helpful

HOW do you manage to write pop punk when trying to make a goth song WHAT?!!??! Tge instrumentals are so different omg.... as for my tips in lyrics, fir me personally it's not a one day project. You just kinda collect sentences and quotes throughout. I mean, you can always drain yourself and write ut without inspiration.... but why would you force yourself to do something you love. alright now I'm drifting from the topic
I MEANT THE LYRICS SOUND LIKE A POP PUNK SONG NOT THE INSTRUMENTALS

I genuinely don't know how to give advice on this despite writing lyrics before. Typically I start with an instrumental or an idea of one before hand, then figure out the tune I want for the lyrics. From there I know how many syllables need to be in each line. Rhyming patterns in music are similar to how they are in poetry, with say.. ABABC ABABC type patterns. You can come up with whatever pattern you want or not even rhyme at all. I tend to write songs about stories so I usually have a bit of an idea what I want going in. Hopefully some of this makes sense.
