Movie Review Series: Episode 1 - Holmes & Watson

What can I say about this hot garbage. Okay, most people walked out because they couldn't make it past the cringey parts in the beginning and assumed it to be bad. I stayed for the whole thing just to see if it was truly as bad as everyone thought. Of course it's supposed to be a comedic adaptation of Sherlock Holmes which overall isn't too bad of an idea especially considering the star power you have in Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. However, there was no way they could save it despite having a couple funny moments. The overall plot was nothing new. Yes it was kind of shown in a new light, and had a decent twist for those who don't really pay attention, but the two times it got a laugh out of me isn't enough for a movie classified as a comedy. If you ever want some background noise or a real way to waste an hour and a half or just want to see something bad, try giving it a watch. I think my review is pretty tame compared to how it was ripped apart in the media.

I'm going to be honest, and the rating is only as high as it is due to a pretty hilarious Cameo by Hugh Laurie.
