Report Blog Entry
So far, so good!!
I feel like I still have a fair bit to get to grips with, but I think tonight's been a pretty good first go at things!
Plus, I've already "made" some new friends and they all seem like super interesting people!
Assuming I end up getting kind of locked in, I'm hoping if I can motivate myself to develop some HTML skills so I can personalise my profile some more. I'm loving the Windows XP theme (Nostalgia aside, it makes me feel like I'm a side character in Emily is Away), but it would be so cool to get into the code guts and make it do sum real specific :3
I think I'll try to post a book review tomorrow. Part of why I decided to bite the bullet and join is this blogging aspect. Blogging on tumblr kind of feels like... hurtling a brick into the void, but so far, the blogging feature on here kinda feels more like blowing dandelion seeds into the breeze. I like that you're not looking at a content-loaded dashboard to post too. Like, the Void part happens while you're writing, instead of when you hit post.
Also, another random thing that I oddly kind of like: Shit takes time to load. Like... idk if it's just my brain being a lil melty, but I feel like stuff on SpaceHey take more time to load than most of the other websites. When I first noticed it, I scoffed a lil cus I was like, "seriously?" but when the page continued to load after the thought had passed, I realised that I actually didn't dislike that the page was taking it's sweet ass time. SpaceHey pages will load on their own time, not yours, and y'know what? I respect that.
Kinda gives you a moment, too. idk if this is intentional, or just a byproduct of not having the same kind of big beefy servers/hosting whatevers as the major sites do, or cus this site doesn't gorge itself on my data and presume to load up the page before I've even clicked on it... But I actually like it.
Looking forward to more dicking about in the future -thumbs up- Oh, and figuring out how to do emojis and shit. I figure it's just a copy/paste, right?

Omg yes! I'm glad you're liking it so far. Your point about Tumblr is so accurate (no hate to Tumblr tho, I love that site like a firstborn son), but sometimes there's just an impersonal feeling about it.
Also, one thing I love about SpaceHey is NO ADS. I feel like my brain has gotten some respite from being constantly thrown gambling ads/titty ads to my face, lmao.

also, yes, tumblr will always be the og. I lowkey wanna get back on it, but I might just have to make a new account. I'd really hate to nuke/abandon my original blog(s) cus I've literally had it for a decade, but it'd be nice to start anew, especially since it feels so different to what it was last decade.

Cheers! And yeah, not surprising to hear. I'd like to hope it's the sort of thing where people come to check out what all the fuss is about, kind of shrug their shoulders at it, but then hopefully come back to it when they're actually ready. I was like that with Tumblr and the Strokes.
That, or people sign up, see it's not the kind of site that powerwashes content into the folds of their brain and decide to bounce.
