I’ve been looking for people who at least know of it, but nobody seems to. Which is weird cause it was pretty popular. It was an app where you could blog about your pets basically, often abbreviated to PND. It was released sometime in 2011, by the same guy who made an app that more people are probably familiar with - Amino. PND was closed down to create the very first Amino community, Pets Amino.

You could make profiles for your pets, write blogs about them, make and enter contests, and join groups about all sorts of topics. Your pet could receive hearts (likes) from other users and often people would do a heart4heart exchange thing, like the like4like stuff on early instagram.
It was very forum-y. My favourite part was the groups for animal role plays, I spent a looooot of time role playing on there. I remember most of the role play groups were centred around wolves for some reason. We called those people “Wolfaboos”. Sometimes a warrior cat or dragon group would be there too, but mostly wolves and dogs.

You could also view the pets near your location on a map, hence the name Pets Next Door. The location was not your exact location to protect privacy, but it would be the same suburb.
This was the old pet profile display, or possibly even just the prototype. For most of its time PND’s pet profile design had a grey background with tiny, subtle stripes, slightly different text arrangement, and the likes were ‘hearts’.

What’s interesting about the profiles was that when you reached a certain milestone number, like 50, 100, 200, etc, the emoji above the heart could would change.
For example, in this pic 100 was 4 ❤️. Some emojis I remember being used for milestones were 👑 and 💎, though I can’t remember for what numbers. My pet with the highest number of hearts was around 800, which was kinda a big deal not to brag xD
Anyways, did anyone here use Pets Next Door?
If not, I hope you enjoyed learning about a random animal lovers app from the early 2010s :3
