dude i love these panels so much
like yea sonics right
eggman was pushed by fate to go back into his old ways to fall back into his old habits
he cant control that unfortunately
but metal could
metal could choose to do good
he had literally no reason to return to eggman he couldve stayed with sonic and crew and helped others
but nooooooooooooooo he just HAD to stay true to his programming
literally every other robot in the series changed ways and realized how much of a dick eggman was and turned against him
everyone else has friends and found family now because they stopped associating with him
but metal just couldnt help himself
his code just wouldnt let him
god i love this character
even if im not a hard core sonic fan i love shit like this hahahaha

also forgot to mention but you can just FEEL the venom and frustration in sonics dialogue
hes so dissapointed in metal because he KNOWS that if gemerl can change if omega can change if eggman can change (even if it was only for a moment) then metal absolutely could change
but nope he chose to walk the same path despite every other option being handed to him
he just HAD to be different
