It's a nickname for the name I wish I had, Jesse
But, man.....
I feel a little goofy every time I think I wanna tell my parents that...
I don't really like my real name
It just doesn't suit me as well as Jay/Jesse

when I turn 18 move out, get my own life
will they be mad I changed my name?

if they get mad it's a good sign they won't be supportive of your future endeavors unless it supports them directly in a way. literally just do not give a fuck. do it man. nobody is truuuly stopping you But YOURSELF !! do what makes You feel GOOD !!! we've changed our name like 100 times man, you're good.
