The 90's had a notable era of music that has a place in my heart long after it's peak, and seeing it come back through new artists warms my heart lol. Think it started with Massive Attack and Sneaker Pimps back around 2020, and then more recently with Portishead, Tricky, DJ Shadow & some Bjork. And that's how i got more into the genre unconsciously. I was (and still am) working on a story project from back then, and the playlist I made for it technically represents and shaped it's identity to what it is currently (mostly taken from that genre). Trip-hop pretty much is one of my biggest inspirations in making art and getting in the zone....it's just funky beats and grooves with fresh tunes, what can i say? :p
The new wave and resurgence with the genre with say, the returning popularity of Trip-Hop artists (Teardrop!!!) and up and coming artists like Sophia Stel, warms my heart. It has just the tinge of modernity creeping through it's urban and downtempo flair, and it's still able to ground you towards realism with it's beats. I'm happy to see it. ✌i'd like to share some trip hop music i've been into as of late, feel free to have a listen ^_^
