This is a movie I often think about. It's been a long time since I watched it. It's a black and white movie, I remember it as nearly silent. That made it a lot different than most movies I used to watch, it's the title that got my attention at the time but I stayed interested through the whole movie.
"At 76, Margaret Ross lives alone in a dilapidated apartment, her mind fractured by delusions that her neighbors spy on her through the building’s pipes. After a recent hospitalization leaves her unable to care for herself, Mr. Conrad, a compassionate social worker, takes it upon himself to look after her. As the authorities search for her long-lost husband, Archie, Margaret’s isolated world becomes a stage for her fractured reality—will the echoes of her past bring her the solace she yearns for, or deepen her descent into a solitary madness?"
Starring: Edith Evans, Nanette Newman, Harry Baird Directed by: Bryan Forbes
I looked up the plot of the movie to remind myself what all had happened in it, it may be more sad than I remember. The plot has spoilers, but if you're not going to watch the movie than it's worth reading. Plot link
I will hopefully rewatch it soon.
