Why are people rushing life

Recently a fee of my friends have come to me just venting about how they feel behind compared to other people and how they need to do a whole bunch of stuff,  and i also noticed that other people feel this way too but like most of them have either just become adults or they just got out od f highschool like whata the rush? 

In my understanding these things will eventually happen and soon enough youll get on the track you need to be to achieve whatever it is your looking for so why is everyone in such a hurry? There is no time limit or set date, life is very unpredictable but literally anything can happen at any time any given day 

I feel like people are trying to grow up to fast or have everything in order before they figure themselves out and even trying to be in relationship! Like why are we putting a timer on ourselves it makes no sense to me!
