So for I really, really long time I've hated my art style and I am just now getting comfortable with it. Here are some tips :3:
✮ Number one: Just because you like an art style doesn't mean you want to draw like it.
"Awwww, their art style is so cute, I wish I drew like that!" Most likely you don't. Just because someone's art style is beautiful or cute and you THINK you wanna draw like it, I bet the second you learn how to draw like it, you'll want a different art style. Just try and draw something you think looks cool that you like, not someone else's you found doom scrolling on Pinterest. (Sometimes you do actually find an interest in a form of art, but not every time.)
✮ Number two: Take small things you're comfortable with from other people's art styles (???)
Like I just said, you do not wanna copy someone's art style completely, but take small things that work for you, if that makes sense. For example, I like the way Panty and Stockings draw their feet, so I draw my feet like that.
✮ Number three: If you think it looks funny but others don't, do what you like.
So I am really bad at drawing eyes, and whenever I tried, I thought it looked bad. But I have a sister really close in age to me, so I would ask for her opinion, and she would love it. If you don't like the way it looks, everyone else is like, "Oh, I love the way that looks!" or "That's better than your other one." Don't listen, if you don't like it, then do what you want, even if it is abstract, like the way I draw eyes, lines, and dots.
So those are my tips!! If you have anything you wanna ask, go ahead! I would love to respond :)
