The Shallow Lake

A shallow life is nothing.

People nowadays are always saying "Live the life!" or "Life's too short to not enjoy it!". But when you see how THOSE people live their lifes, all you can see is  lost soul. Someone so shallow, that drinking is their only way to have fun, and sex is a usual thing they do everyday, and they don't even remember the faces they kissed, acting like they're cool. 

That's not a way to live the life. That's not a good way of using the phrase "life's too short", because, yes, life is in fact short, and then you just go and waste it all just because the world called it cool? it's not.

I see everyday, mostly teens around my age (from 11, yes ELEVEN, to 18), making the same things and acting like they're just living their teen life. 

Everyone says the new generation is lost, but those normally don't really LIVE in the middle of these teens. And i do, so i can teel that yes, this generation is in fact completely lost. Of course, i'm not saying it and thinking that the past generations are better. I think that each generation has its own problems, and this one, besides politic problems (and others, i won't be listing every one of them), has this big problem: Life's too short.

It's really awfull to see it up close. Because they don't even know what they're doing, what those "small" actions will do to their ENTIRE life.

"School is nothing", they say. I agree that the schools have a really limited way of teaching, that doesn't include everyone with their differences, but treat it like literally nothing is not right, in my opinion. Okay, if you don't like maths, if you're awful at it, try another subject. Maybe you're better in Arts? Or history? I don't know. Maybe you don't even like those subjects but you're completely INCREDIBLE in football or any other sport. Do them. Focus on them. But do SOMETHING, you know?

You can play an instrument, do a sport, learn languages, read, write, study... Anything. This new generation has literally ALL options to have a good life. Remember the past generations, when with eight years or around that age a kid had to work to help take care of their house? Or when a girl had to marry an old man she didn't even know just because it was a normal thing? (yes, those things STILL exist nowadays in some places, but i'm talking generally).

Now there's EVERYTHING to give a person a good life. And when a teen is gifted by those options - because as everyone knows, there is still kids, teens, adults and old people who don't have the same options - they just ignore it. Almost all of them, treating their lives like they'll forever live below their parents roof, do anything they want without consequentions, and be "cool". 

Tell me, how can a teen given so many good options and even money, ignore all that and live like a complete dumb and idiot person? Like, how do you mean you don't have hobbies at all, you aren't good at ANY subject, you don't do ANY sport, and you just go and kiss everyone, like you're the cool one?

They don't have deepness. They are shallow, empty corpses walking through a life they think is being well lived.

There's teens with 13 years or less drinking alcohool and thinking it's cool. Smoking. Having literal sex with other kids. Because, yes, they ARE STILL KIDS. They completely lose their childhood because if they don't, they'll be called "childish". 

There is girls with SEVEN YEARS already making a full face makeup and their mothers applaud like it's a good thing.

This is NOT right.

And, bringing another subject that is connected with this, comes the question: why do they do that? Because of the standart of the world.

That's exactly why teens and kids lose their childhood, and because they don't have a personality. They just, follow what everyone follows as well.

What do you like? What everyone else likes. What do you hear? What my friends hear. What do you do, like hobbies? Maybe nothing, maybe what everyone does as well.

They don't have a personal opinion about anything at all. They don't even know what they like.

They don't even know themselves.

They are a shallow lake. No one wants to enter and have fun in a shallow lake. There's no fish in a shallow lake. There is none or just a few plants in a shallow lake. There is almost no water in a shallow lake.

Because it's shallow. And it has nothing to give.

How is finishing your life not even knowing what you like? Not even knowing anything at all, or maybe knowing it, but not practicing it?
