have no friends at school? romanticise it. struggling with a certain mental disorder/illness? romanticise it. the romancticisation of things that people struggle, suffer and dislike everyday can be solved with making it seem 'glamorous' , 'edgy' or even 'cute' and 'cool'. seems simple right? yes, doing this can and will encourage you to make yourself even worse and intently make yourself suffer more, and the fake happiness you gain from doing this will rapidly increase the more you do so. but remember, fake happiness is still a form of happiness . In conclusion, romanticisation is an unlimited fake happiness hack that will subconsciously drag you down anddownnnnn............ until you've finally realised you made a mistake. I think? idk. Would you take this drug?
Best and worst thing that has happened to me

I think this romanticization and fetishization of being unwell and sick stems from the many lingering effects of COVID, since there were so many teenagers being groomed to think a certain way on the internet. Not even counting the effects of social media (everything being so easily accessible and shoved in your face all the while your brain sends you feel-good chemicals) I think being sick has become the new norm because not only is it different from the norm, it makes you 'cool.' Being unwell is trendy, and cute, especially when we slap generalizations and cutsy nicknames to very real, very damaging states of minds.
