The loss of Name

Have you ever noticed that people don't use names anymore? How many times have you looked at someone and just been like "hey-" or just started talking at them? Names are gone now and it sucks. I try to use other peoples names all the time. When i talk to someone, unless I don't know their name its "Hey (name)" or "(Naaaaame) I'm hungry." informality has become more equivalent to nonpersonal. Its gotten to the point that when someone I know says my name instead of just talking in my direction (friends/family) It makes me do a double take. A name is what we're called. Its who and what we are. Even if there's not love in the way someone says your name, there's recognition. Acknowledgement. At first I thought that it was a sign of affection, but then I thought about people in my life and it doesn't mane sense really. there's people that i know for a fact love me, but they don't say my name much.

Based on the people in my life and myself, I almost feel like its attached to your worth in their eyes. Not necessarily your worth to them- but if you're an equal, above, or below them. I HAVE noticed that some people who obviously have a low opinion on my standing in the world say my name significantly less. Almost not at all, even if we have daily conversations People who (I think) respect me seem to say it more, although its still not a lot.

One friend I have who says my name a lot i think looks up to me but I'm not sure.

or it could just be a slip of the tongue, who knows
