As you can see, i did 2 different types of folders, one whit a random image and another whit the classic folder icon but cusomized. If you plan on doing the latter, you have to put your designing skills to use.

First, before we get into it, i want you to understand the basics - in case you want to go on your own from there!
We need to turn an image into an .ico file, use this website (or any other you find). Then we need to customize our folder: right click, properties, personalize, change icon, examine, choose the .ico file, ok, apply, ok. Got it? Good.
Now, lets see how you can make your own folder icon, using Canva, "why Canva?" Why not?
Now heres where it gets tricking, you need to find a base for your icon, i do this looking up folder icon on my browser. Not only that, you need to make sure its the right length and width, whats the right proportions you ask? I have no idea. Sorry. Experiment and hopefully you get it in your first try.
Wait, whats "this" ? Well, i dont know but im sure only lazy and boring people will check it out.
Ok, so i have my template.
Now design the folder however you want, as if your where putting stickers in a suitcase or something. When you are finished decorating it, remove the background, i use remove.bg. And at last, use the indications i gave at the beginning!

i did this a while ago, making silly desktop stuff
only diff was i used gimp which is my #1 go to for image editing
you can make ico files in gimp, its a bit convoluted but it works :3
