Original Poetry - The Moon

XVIII — The Moon — XVIII

A watchful eye over all who breathe;
A bastion in the sky, shining upon the heath.
Reflections in the water, a mirror of the unknown
As the untamed beast prowls and roams
Into the night—
Lurking in wait—
To catch those unwary; "succumb to fate!"
A terrifying howl, tuck tail for home
Lest the Beacon find you—
As you wander alone...

Trust not your eyes for you are being deceived
By a force most foul, a frenzied fiend
That cares not for your worries, your wisdom, or wits
But instead how far you delve into the pits
Of mental troubles and more that are unseen;
The mind games result in a tortured mien—
Though as soon as they come, the phantoms go
And trick the poor mortals as they meander below.

The midnight light beams black as the hair
Of the maiden standing o'er the river
On a crimson bridge arcing between the banks;
She comforts the tanukis and gives them thanks,
For as much as The Moon is a source of deception,
She provides us a chance to engage in the inception
Of new opportunities, knowledge, and thought.

Not all is negative, so long as you adhere
To your intuition as you stray from the beaten track.
The insecurity you feel, the subconscious fear
Is not all as it seems; reality shall crack
Beneath its gaze,
Its stony gaze,
The whispers of the zodiac.
Stay true to yourself and your spiritual Guides
As all is revealed and resolved
And you shall become a far greater being,
One which has truly evolved!
The enlightenment you receive, frustrating as it may seem
Will make you far more wise,
Beyond your years and many of your peers;
Behold The Moon tonight!
