Guys fuck being depressed, we've got shit to look forward to again. Lets gooo

I'll be real with you, I'm almost always in some kind of slump and get sick of it pretty quickly. As someone with ADHD, I struggle with burnout, low moods and time blindness, and lately I've just not felt enthusiastic about anything whatsoever. October is my favourite time of year, autumn is my favourite season, and Halloween is my favourite holiday, yet I've been too drained of colour to care.

But who gives a fuck about any of that when cool stuff is happening and the universe has started setting shit up in your favour behind the scenes? My answer to dealing with the  'deep darkies, ' (as my sister and I like to call it,) is to remain delusional and fixated on hobbies that help you block out the sound of the world burning 24/7.

Shit sucks. But by god, I'm sick of drifting around like a greyscale blob and so I made the decision today to throw myself back into my mountain of abandoned hobbies / hyper fixations/interests and was rewarded over the course of the day by THREE awesome announcements that dragged my ass right out of the maws of boredom and had me buzzing like an idiot in excitement. 

Monster High teases the new Alien Skullector Xenomorph Doll! 

The first thing I woke up to after pulling an all-nighter, as per usual, was a pounding headache and the need to immediately doomscroll the minute my eyes opened; however, I was snatched by the scruff before I could fall back into bad habits when I saw that Mattel had posted a peek of their newest Skullector doll. 

And Jesus fucking christ, when I saw that it was Alien inspired? I leapt right out of bed and started bombarding my best friend, Gwen, with hyperactive voice notes like a woman possessed. At that point, we hadn't seen the whole design yet and assumed this was only a sneak peek, so we were trying to guess what the doll might look like, excited but expecting to be disappointed by the full reveal as we had been before. 

But then I got on my pc and went to Mattel's website, and HOLY FUCK THERE SHE WAS. I felt like that guy in the "this is my hole!" Junji Ito's comic because I have never, ever seen a doll that felt like it was made for me. Monster High has always been a huge obsession of mine, but thanks to my shrivelled-up shrimp brain, I've lacked any enthusiasm towards the franchise for a while, until today.

I'm obsessed. From the engraved detailing of her body to the material of the dress that suits the silhouette so well, I'm just blown away by this design, not to mention the little face hugger shoes!! I was worried that this doll might be underwhelming or cheaply made, but after looking at it, I genuinely think that this might be the first Skullector doll that I might ever try to buy. Wish me luck, man, I'll cry if I actually get one. 

This just gives me an excuse to binge-watch the movies and start the new TV show throughout the rest of the month, which is perfect for getting into the spooky mood. Chef's kiss. 

Little Nightmares 3 has been released!

The second announcement I saw was that Little Nightmares 3 had been officially released and that CaseOh had already uploaded a video of the whole game, which honestly made me do a double-take because I had forgotten that it was even in the works.

That might be the one redeeming aspect of having the memory of a dead fish: sometimes you forget things that you are looking forward to until they just miraculously exist and surprise you like a random, unexpected gift. I haven't bought it just yet, but I'm definitely going to replay the first two, then grab it because it's such a creepy series and another sick way to get into the Hallowen vibes. Looking forward to it. 

The first ever Glitch Direct! 

Ever since I binge-watched the first six episodes of Digital Circus in one go, I couldn't stop thinking about episode 7's release date, and now, out of nowhere, we finally have one (12th of December 2025), but even better, we also were told when ep 8 will be out! (20th March 2026) And I'm so excited I want to peel off my face.

We have a whole Discord just dedicated to talking about Glitch, and even though everyone else is definitely in bed because it's like 5 am, I went ballistic in the chat because they've decided to work with the creators of Lackadaisy to finally make the show. I haven't thought about Lackadaisy in forever, and so I got whiplash when they threw this in at the end.

Really looking forward to The Gaslight District and Knights of Guinevere too! 

Theres probably a bunch of other things I've completely missed today, but I hope that more cool stuff gets released in future because now I feel like im rising from the dead and want to do stuff again (about fucking time.) 

Tommorow im going to keep the creative ball rolling and buy some autumn / halloween decorations for the house so I dont just miss my favourite time of year again. I think drinking maple and cinnamon hot chocolates while listening to Creature Feature might even make me inspired enough to actually draw spooky shit again if the stars align just right.
