a lot of people are being turned away from tron ares because of jared leto but tbh idgaf. like dude hes one actor in an entire movie and apparently hes one of the main reasons why tron ares even exists. so like. even if he lowkey sucks, kudos for making this long awaited movie a possibility.
also people are pissed that sam and quorra from legacy arent gonna be in there, but imo, they dont have to be. like at the end of legacy, sam and quorra drive off into the sunset to live in the human world as an open ending, but it makes you assume they just want to settle down. it's not a requirement that they need to even make a cameo in ares. itd be nice, sure, but it's not necessary. ares is made to be pretty much a standalone.
and another thing, people hate that tron apparently isnt going to be in the movie. but again imo, i dont think he has to be. tron is the original, and ares is basically an evolution. ares is a new chapter. so this is growing from tron, but it doesnt have to be about tron. does that make sense? i mean i would LOVE for tron to be in the movie, but it's really not like it's a requirement. genuinely.
uhh if you like tron and have differing thoughts, id love to hear your stance on it!! this post is just my opinion lmao
side note thing, but im hoping that if ares does well, tron uprising will finally be given attention again. however, knowing disney and its history, im scared that itd completely derail what uprising had set up. movie-wise, legacy is my favorite, but out of the entire tron franchise (that ive seen) my favorite is uprising. i just hate that it ended on a cliffhanger, only to be cancelled. genuinely one of the BEST miniseries for a movie franchise that ive ever seen.

I don't really care that Jared Leto's in it, but to me the whole point of Tron is that it takes place in the digital world.
Them coming to the real world just seems kind of lame to me.
i so agree with this. i think the concept is cool, but seeing inside the Grid is way cooler. thats why i loved Uprising so much, because the story takes place entirely in the digital world—you get to learn about different types of programs, how the Grid works and its terrain, the technology they have. it's fascinating.
i think i'll enjoy Ares for what it is, but i doubt it'll top Legacy for me.

Btw have you ever played tron 2.0? You seem to be a big fan of the franchise so I figured I let you'd know it exists if you didn't already, its pretty well forgotten.

sadly i havent! i havent played any of the games, just watched the first two movies and the miniseries
