something ironic abt how I came to rlly dislike spotify...

so basically, I bought an MP3 player a few months ago and decided to change my spotify subscription to the free version rather than wholly deleting it. Probaably cause I have a bit of an attachment to all of my carefully curated playlists "hey I could still use those! I can put them on my MP3 now" but anyways. This decision actually led to me HATTTTINGGGG spotify!!! 

well to start I kinda knew they had a shady side just as a business as a whole which is why I bought and alternative to begin with BUT, I am telling you right now, if you want to be disgusted by the greed a corporation can have then lo and behold. spotify free plan is standing right over there for you lol. 

Sooooo, free spotify is borderline unusable at least in my opinion. It probably went from my second most used on my screentime to joining the sea of untouched apps on my phone. you know why??? :) its because the sheer amount of ADS! dont get me wrong, I was expecting a couple of ads here and there (was it supposed to be every 15 minutes of music or so?) but I really thought that would be it.

but no, dear reader, not only were there clusters of like three ads constantly. they permeate EVERY CREVICE OF THE APP??? like bro im trying to look at my listening history NOT what I should be eating at wendys... 

I also lost SO MANY features??? im sorry, I didnt think that skipping 30 seconds into a song warranted MONEY TO BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH??? OH and did you enjoy listening to strictly the songs you CHOSE SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR PERSONAL PLAYLIST??? well say GOODBYE to that privilege!!! cause you can basically only use the like sparkle shuffle that adds random songs while youre listening.

oh and i hope you have lots of data (if you can put up with the last points) cause you cant download anything to listen offline to anymore either!! 

There are probably other things that pmo abt free spotify subscription but I feel like I remembered it being WAY more useable when I first got it (before paying for it I did indeed try the free version to see if i should switch over from apple music) but basically I just cant see myself using spotify anymore.

 Which funnily enough is NOT a complaint on my part I actually am glad i am not clinging onto it(hence the title of this blog) but it really has roused some huge annoyance within me loool. 

but I now have my fun outside of that and was just bored and wanted something to write abt lool so dont take this too serious mkay?

anyways I think it is a lot of fun to restart my physical media collection (which I will maybe post on here someday 0.o) and spend my well earned free time downloading and customizing awesome playlists that I can carry on me in my special little MP3.

All in all I just think spotify is messed up now that I have seen what they force those who cannot afford to pay for it to go thru (my old opinion as well as my heart was broken by this discovery)
