QUESTION: Suggested Reading About Religious History

I'm an atheist and anti-religion, but I want to remain open-minded and consider as many arguments and perspectives as I can, both for and against religion, and not just from Western culture.

Whether you're a theist or an atheist, please drop some recommended reads (books, journals, bibles etc)!! I'd love to hear from anyone from any religion.

Just as a baseline, I believe religion as a concept is inherently oppressive (patriarchal) and religious dogma is incredibly dangerous. I have a copy of the King James Bible and am reading through it. I also regularly read articles on JSTOR and Britannica related to religion.

I look forward to any and all responses!!1!

I am with you wholeheartedly! I am very interested in researching religion for non-spiritual purposes.

For a more academic book, try Understanding Religion, by Moojan Momen.
