Cool Fish

This is a little comp of fish/sharks that I think are fascinating! I'm just doing this mostly for myself, but if more people are aware of these creatures' existence, that would be wonderful. 

P.S.(assuming that someone's reading this ahah): i am not a marine biologist, I just like different sea creatures and want to learn more about them just for fun. So if I got any of the info wrong, i’ll be grateful if you let me know!!<3

Goblin shark

Scary, unique-looking sharks.

1.They are very rare 

2. They live deep in the ocean, so it's almost impossible for an ordinary person to encounter them (you can relax now, ahah). 

3. They are usually 3-4 meters (10-13 feet) long. 

4. Their jaws don't look that scary most of the time, because they extend their jaws only when hunting prey to catch and eat it! 

5. They also have around 30-50 rows of teeth (both upper and lower jaws). 

6. Goblin sharks live in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans(basically, almost everywhere), but little is known about their location(s) and behavior. 

7. They are also super slow due to their small fins and weak bodies. 

8. Oh, and they are also pink. Cute!!

Mantis shrimp

Mantis shrimps are so cool and rainbow-y, they look so SICK, love them! 

1. Not all species are that colorful :(, there is around 450 spesies of these guys, ranging from brown and dull to rainbow road-looking fellas. 

2. They are usually 10 cm (4 inches) long. 

3. These lil guys are known to be aggresive, strong (they can even break glass with their punch ffs) and deadly, not for humans tho, but still, don't mess with them, just in case. 

4. They inhabit tropical and subtropical waters (Indian & Pacific Oceans). 

5. They are incredibly smart AND their eyes can detect cancer sells!! 

6. But mantis shrimp are also edible, so people just catch them to eat... Yeah 

(7. On a serious note, this is not that grim, and scientists keep researching the structure of their eyes!!)

Barreleye fish

No intro, I'll just list things about them that I find fascinating ahah:P 

1. Their heads are transparent, and you can see how their eyes are structured.

2. Their eyes are almost always looking up - this makes them able to spot prey easily. 

3. They live deep in the ocean(twilight zone to be exact), where no sun can reach, their eyes are adapted to the darkness of the ocean, but are very sensitive to sunlight coming from above. 

4. They are actually very small (only 15 cm/6 inches!!) 

5. Two little indents in front of their head are NOT their eyes, the big yellow-ish green orbs inside their transparent head are! 

6. We still don't know much about them :( 

7. They are also known as spookfish (but I personally find them cute)
