I feel like getting this out of my chest: old internet and techno were better, and im talking about the 1995-2012 era, why? Honestly, back then, i felt everything was so magic, not everything, but in this case, technology was. Internet back then was something practically new to people because untill 2000s people didnt start actually having a computer on their homes! I love how it looked like, because searching something on the internet and reading blogs was actually worth it bc people was discovering a whole new thing. I also feel like back then we could express ourselves better with an style and through webs itself; a big example of this are old webs in the early 90s; those were so good! Every web was different and people read those out of boredom because it could be talking of the most random thing ever! And its amazing honestly, those webs were made with a lot of colors, weird backgrounds, and gifs everywhere! That was a way of expression. Another example of it was MySpace on the early 2000s, where people could make their own page with a lot of new things, not like now; i feel everything is ore boring now! Webs are the same and everything is on our phones, not letting us experience other things like IPods or cds. People nowadays barely buy DvDs and Cds because streaming took over and all. A thing we have lost through the years for the new technologys fault was owing something; now you barely own something that was bought with your money and you have it on your bedroom like a DvD. People lost that thing. When i try to explain this to my irl friends they look at me like im a weirdo! Is it just me? After Smartphones took over in 2007/2008 when the new IPhone came out, we got everything in one single thing, but thats not so good as everyone thinks it is! I feel things should be used with different devices: phone for calling, mp3/ipod/radio/cds for music, computer/consoles for playing (even if we already do that), yk what i mean? Now everythings so boring because internet is normalized! Plus, i miss when we could use internet but it wasnt a need. We could live without it and be okay with it, now we literally cant, and it pisses me off seeing people just on their phones and thats it. Theres a whole life out there!
Well, after all, maybe im just a teen missing an era i couldnt even experience.
See you in next blog!
xoxo

Be the change you want to see. I have a flip phone, still buy CDs, and luckily enough stumbled onto this place.
I’ve gotten older but I really haven’t changed. It’s not so easy for those who WEREN’T there to know what is missing, and I worry about future generations.
i never experienced what you did, and i wish i did. Thank to my parents i still apreciate the old things. Im trying to live what you did and leave my smartphone aside. I was even thinking about buying a fliphone from back then! Ive got a radio, cds, a ps3 and even a 90s tv, an soon ill get an ipod from wallapop. Im tired of having everything in just one thing, its boring for me! I want to experience what was to be a teen in 2000-2010. And with all the AI thing.. its making me hate new media even more than i already did. Im so scared of new generations too because adults are ruining kids with phones and all those things. I hope things turn out good tho!

You can’t use most of the old flips if you’re on a 4G network. I got a Cingular Flex2 flip from Walmart. It has a hotspot so I can still use my old iphone or a tablet as necessary.

it looked very fun, but it also had its downsides...
the internet was significantly slower and much less safe. There weren't really any rules, you could stumble across the wrong stuff really easily...
i do find myself wishing i was around to experience all of it though!
exactly! i know it was less safer, but when i say i miss it i mean how significant it was for everyone and how it was used :]
