I only had Carrot for about three days, but was a pretty damn stressful three days. Waking up every couple hours to made sure he's fed and taken care of, hardly eating myself just to make sure he eats, I was a wreck. He was maybe a week old at most, I'd guess. Apparently taking care of kittens is very difficult, but as long as I kept a schedule of checking up on him it went pretty smooth (food and sleep notwithstanding). I handed him off to a local foster group who's much better equipped to take care of him than I am, but it was still a fun surprise. Finding him abandoned was rough, and I spent that first day panicking just trying to figure out everything I need to do to take care of him. But after that first day, then getting to take him to work was pretty nice. The image of a bunch of Marines all taking care of a kitten is pretty nice. One guy who's a bodybuilder and is absolutely massive would let Carrot just lay on him, and the kitten would just fall asleep between his pecs. All in all, it was fun. I certainly can't fit fostering into my lifestyle regularly, and only did this because he wouldn't have survived much longer otherwise. But it was good, both for the kitten and for me. So bye, Carrot, and thanks for everything you taught me.
Bye, Carrot
