how did it come to this

How did the internet become so full of hate. Now before you fact check me, I know the internet isn't supposed to be this safe haven, there's always been hate and negativity, but something about the modern internet is that no matter what you post, you will get hate. Even if you're talking about a cool shirt you got and how much you like it, someone will always find a way to spread hate.

Now I'm gonna be completely honest, I used to be one of these types of people back in middle school, because of many different reasons, but the main one being jealousy that people were having a great time while I was stuck getting bullied and surrounded by fake people.

But now that I'm grown and I've cut those people out of my life, I feel like the internet has become so hateful to a point where it's a crime to be happy on the internet. If you're not criticizing something or someone, you have no self worth for some reason.

It's down right depressing, posting a youtube video talking about how much I love my grandparents, and someone commenting "no need to flex", or "humble yourself". It's just like, I know you're probably going through something and it makes you mad that people are happy while you are actively not happy for any reason. But maybe think before you reply or post, because guess what, not everything is about you. It's tough but yes, people can have a good life while you are struggling and trying to tear people down doesn't make anything better for anyone.

These people who just want to spread negativity just make me think that they're stuck in middle school or haven't grown up in any way because they don't understand that people can be happy while others are struggling. It's childish, and with the rise of conservatism, it's not getting any better.

So if you feel the need to spread negativity for any reason, look deep inside yourself and ask yourself, will this genuinely make me feel better and will I regret it in the future? That should be your stance when posting anything on the internet, will it cause harm and will I regret it later.

I just thought I'd talk about this because even though the internet has always been hateful, it seems that the hatefulness is stronger than ever. Anyways, have a good day y'all.

I don't knwo if this is the right category, if I should choose a different one, let me know.

It’s the algorithm. The net pushes what gets clicks and interaction, which is primarily upsetting things. Everyone is in a constant echo chamber of grievance.

I’m always amazed when I see women driving around where I am because many are literally just screaming into their phones. I always wonder who they could be so upset with, and why the other person doesn’t just hang up 🤷🏽‍♂️

Anyway, don’t let the world get you down. Unplug, unwind, and ignore those who can’t.
