Inktober: Week 1

Hello everyone! I have been participating in this year's Inktober and posting all my drawings through my bulletins. The plan is to then post them in a blog each week instead of posting one blog everyday.

Before my drawings, I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the friends who have been following my bulletins and supporting them. Your words have so much value to me and really motivate me to come up with something every night to share with you all. I am so glad I manage to spark such wonderful thoughts and feelings through my drawings. Once again, thank you so, so much!

Day 1: Mustache

Ink drawing of two figures, each pinching the ends of their mustaches and pulling to respectively make a smile and frown.

Day 2: Weave

Ink drawing of a woven tapestry circling the written prompt.

I like how this came out, and I think I might revisit this idea in the future for a different drawing.

Day 3: Crown

Ink drawing of Saint Rita, one hand in the air, with harsh shadows.

Additional information for this piece is that the person I drew is Saint Rita.

Day 4: Murky

Ink drawing of a figure pushing back their hair, halfway submerged in a swamp.

I drew the background before I drew anything else. I don't think I've ever finished a piece where I tried doing that.

Day 5: Deer

Day 6: Pierce

I really wanted to draw Fitzjames from The Terror.

The general idea came to me because if you looked in the sky that night, you'd have seen a full moon. It's called the Hunter's moon, so I thought it'd be fitting to draw a "pierce"d hunted animal for this prompt. (And as you know, everything can be related to your obsession if you try hard enough.)

Day 7: Starfish

Ink drawing of a person smiling while laying down with their arms spread out over their pillows and plushies.

When I saw the prompt, I couldn't get this memory out of my mind. One time, I was sleeping on a bigger mattress than usual. My girlfriend insisted that I should "sleep like a starfish" and spread out my arms and legs, since I had the space. It sounded like a nice idea, and I did try to fall asleep in that position, but I couldn't. I can only sleep when all of my limbs are crossed together- force of habit?

I think it would have been nice to be able to fall asleep like she said, so I drew myself like that.

I hope you enjoy looking at these drawings of mine Ü.

Pierce is my favourite as well, thanks!! And that's right, I draw them traditionally & then scan them (very rudimentarily with my phone though haha)
