Story Progression Prologue?

Hii

I've always wanted to write a small blog recording the process of creating one of my projects, but my issue is most of my projects fall flat or I burn myself out or what have you. But this project I want to talk about today has followed me since high school, and as an idiot who failed college before even beginning, what better time to start?

Now my writing experience prior to this was middle school, I loved writing stories; horror to be exact. My dad was into that it so I would sit and listen to creepypasta videos he watched because I was (still am) such a daddy's girl. We would sit and draw together, he'd tell me ideas he had and it was honestly such a fun time.

In highschool though, horror left a bad taste in my mouth- more accurately my stomach couldn't take it like I used too. I'd see gruesome kills in movies and my entire body would ache, super bad, 0/10. So I distanced myself from it, I remember writing a story about a detective, some stuff for my dungeons and dragons games, other little things- but nothing huge like my scary story.

Then I watched Madoka Magica.
Now listeeeen. I've loved magical girls before this- I was madly in love with sailor mercury as a kid, she was my wife and I was fixated on the literal planet because I thought if I knew enough random facts about space, she'd think I was cool.. it was bad. I also watched Precure- or Glitter Force? Does anyone call it that- I swear I've only seen people say Precure online and I'm so confused because when I saw it as a kid it was Glitter Force- whatever- point is I have my history.

So I watched MM and I was in love. The story, the characters, the art- god I have never in my life fallen in love with something faster than I fell in love with the witches in that show it was sogood.

So as all young teenage creatives do after they watch something that they claim change their life: I wanted to copy it. Now I couldn't copy the story beat for beat, word for word. I was a woman of class, you see. Instead of taking the easy way out, I created an entire magical hierarchy.

It was a whole thing, I loved every second of it.

I worked on ideas for a while, there were magical girls with special companions, girls who were born with magic, and girls who got magic artificially. But then it confused me when I looked back on it a year later so- yeah.

I feel like explaining the actual story needs it's own post thing so I'm going to leave it here for now, make a second post with what I have now.

Keep it sweet <3
