Romantic Crush Poem"
I’ve got a secret, but it’s hard to keep,
It sneaks into my brain when I try to sleep.
Your laugh, your smile, the way you walk—
I swear even pigeons stop to gawk.
I practice my lines like a nervous teen,
In the mirror I’m smooth, in real life not keen.
I meant to say hi, but I tripped on a chair,
Played it off cool, like I meant it there.
You order your coffee with effortless grace,
I’m behind you, grinning like I just won a race.
The barista thinks I’m weird, and he’s not wrong,
But when you’re around, my brain writes a song.
So here it is plain, before I combust:
I’ve got a crush—it’s more than just lust.
It’s giggles and stumbles and heartbeats that race,
It’s wishing for sunshine when you show your face.
So if you don’t mind my awkward display,
Would you like to grab dinner—say, Friday?
I promise I’ll keep the tripping to none,
Except, of course, for falling… for someone.
This is meant for someone on SpaceHey but I couldn’t tell her.. and felt awkward.. and I did something stupid.. but if this woman was single it is for her.. and I hope she reads this. She inspired me with her poetry and writings.
