Hopes!

I truly believe the boredom of generation Z will bring back the fun we mourn. Even if we never truly lived through it ourselves. 

I spent majority of my days scrolling on TikTok watching others, show their past memories of them living their own lives. Makes me feel nostalgic for them, but also severely upset that I am not experiencing that but I haven’t lived my whole life yet. I’ve cried at videos of couples showing their love publicly for each other with Bandas or homecoming signs. I used to binge watch others show old memories like photographs, or go through old buildings, or even show off the cool old features that they have in their homes. I watch people thrift and show their cool finds of old products that people used to make religiously. I remember this one video of a person, who used to take pictures of every single friend in their bedroom and you can just feel the homeyness that they had. 

It’s so alive there. And I wish for it to all come back but what if it always has been here? If I think about it,  negative things are more remembered and shared publicly. Once I heard somebody say, “If you put your phone down slowly you will realize it never left”. My goodness if only it was that easy. I wish for our society to bring being fun back. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. THEM. Places aren’t made for teenagers anymore and I can’t think of any apps that AREN’T filled with disgustingness.  Everything is for adults now and it sucks balls. That’s why I believe GEN Z will bring it back once we all get older. Maybe finally I’ll experience the cute designs on pants that hopefully are everywhere, wear a lot more sustainable materials that aren’t 30+ dollars, have places for my teens to go that are cheap; colors everywhere, towns being taken care of, designs on every building, and lastly human connection. I’m not saying this isn’t something that doesn’t exist; I just want it to be more normalized again. Feels like it’s only a once in a while occurrence but why can’t it be EVERYWHERE. Let us be fun again.
