Shit I need to see more

I'm no trendy person or a trendsetter or have an entitlement to do this but those are things I just miss/want to be seeing in my life. Some of those I do myself, others maybe not so, well realizing I'm part of my made up "problem". But anyway, share your opinion and do with that (more or less uselesy) information what you wish. I'm just gonna yap in this one, because - why not? Enjoy

1. Tea trays
I know I'm not the inventor of tea trays (or anything) but I really think the concept of just putting together snacks, an activity and a drink and make it pretty and over the top is so underrated. Imagine magine just having something to pour, your cup, a little plate with your favorite snacks and a beautiful napkin and those tea bag rests or whatever they are called on a nice tray and just pour, drink and relax? Like let's do this together! You can personalize it to your liking and drink/eat while doing something else, how cool is that? You could do a little activity with that, I don't care what it is, you could be reading, listening to a true crime podcast, journalling, cooking for your seven kids or doing forking push-ups, just, please make it a thing! Anyway. Tea trays. They're cool.

2. Wearing funky socks
I get that most things just go best with black and white and they're cheap, common, useful, timeless, fashionable, comfortable, whatever whenever, whereever BUT I NEVER SEE COLOFUL SOCKS. How come there is so many, like a real market for it, but I never see them on people's feet? I do not care if they "weird with the outfit" like that's not the whole point of funky socks! If you have some, wear them! Everyone hating is a weird and colorless loser!

3. Younger generations appreciating Classical music (this one is gonna get longggg as it is a passion of mine, prolly gonna make a more detailed blog on the topic, skip if there's no interest lol)

Now, this one I understand we're not all on the same boat. Classical can be boring or whatever (but every genre can, and some pieces are just bad and bad examples or just overplayed) but give it a try! Nobody has to know every pieces' name or sit there for an hour and a half doing nothing but listening or analyze every bar. Just show appreciation for dead people's hard work. In Classical music, there's pieces (please only use "songs" if there is ACTUAL SINGING) for everyone and if you still don't like it, then whatever. At least you tried it and know more than Mozart's Night music.
And about the generations thing: If you show some appreciation and you like it, it's fine if you don't have grey hair or 50 degrees in music-related fields it's still okay to go to concerts and enjoy them! There is no age minimum for Classical concerts. (Hot tip: some institutions do offer student discounts and subscriptions that are way cheaper. Schools and universities often have free entries to their ensembles' concerts and some Art Vernissages or art gallery openings to have musical acts before their openings and sometimes offer free drinks as well, that's not guaranteed tho).
If you think you can't connect with the people there because you're not a pro or studying music at 13 or getting masterclasses and winning competitions then - you are right or wrong, depending on the community sadly. But most of the time, you still can connect with the people there that listen to Classical music, even itlf they are not musicians themselves. And: maybe there's no one your age you can connect with because you are not going, the someone else is not going because of this, and then y'all are not going, and then we're all not going and miss out on the opportunity of building a strong community of Classical music enthusiast that have not reached their mid-life crisis yet! I'm positive that Classical music will continue to get passed on generations and appreciated but it does require our effort!
If you've been on a lot of concerts already and think it's dead watching paid musicians play the pieces they have played for decades, switch it up! Go see uni orchestras, Soloist, instruments you never paid attention to, lean into Jazz or more modern interpretations, look up Music festivals or concerts, switch it up and buy CDs, or play pieces you like yourself if you play an instrument or sing! Or take a break from it all (we all now it's too much sometimes). There are so many options!
And if you can't afford anything out of these, listen to Youtube's great repertoire of performances. It's not the same as live but it's still is better than nothing.
And if you listen to ONLY Classical music: maybe don't feel superior because of this and stay open-minded. It's fine to like or not like other Genres.
(more detailed blog on this will follow soon! Btw hit me up if you actually read through this whole section lol)

5. Having physical things, like a calendar
I'm not only talking about physical media, even though I love it, I get it's more of a personal preferences or more practical to have it digitally but please calendars/notebook/journals! They can still be on paper, right? Or why do I get weird looks when I pull out my Seven-Euros-Calendar sometimes? I put in all in one place, I stick to-do-lists in it, I write down thoughts andI never forget my homework even when I wish I did. It's so interactive and fun as well! You could try, maybe you'll end up liking it!

6. People sharing their art and interests physically
Now, I love that there are spaces online for every possible community and I will continue loving and using the platforms but doing that in real life could result in people meeting face-to-face and I don't know... skip away into the sunset with their similarity and become best friends? Maybe that is unrealistic but I wish to experience that someday.

7. Bringing fruit instead of sweets
Now, don't get me wrong, I still love my sweets and I don't want to annoy by saying they're inhealthy (even if that's the truth hoho) but they're just underrated. Like yeah, I could bring a bag of sweets and I could share them but I really could also eat  some juicy figs right now.

8. Choosing local places over chains

I do understand that those are not necessarily the most affordable or sometimes convenient options and smaller restaurants, stores, etc. are not avaible in or accessible for people living in more rural area (can relate to that one particularly). But I also cherish the memories of getting a „Döner“ with friends late at night, buying spices in a basement, sitting on one of the 10 avaible spots of my nearest Thai diner and looking for souvenirs in a small shop in an alley near the coast much more than buying groceries or going to a fast food place. It‘s obvious that this doesn‘t fulfill the needs of everyone and I‘m spesking of a more priviledged place but keeping these little businesses alive is what shapes the local landscape as well. So if there‘s an opportunity to support, I think it should be ceased. I always get sad when a small business closes again because there weren‘t enough customers.

9. Starting something despite being „too old“ for it

Whether it´s new hobby, a project, a new skill or a habit. I think sometimes things have an optimal age for starting or some things are not recommended doing at a certain age for one‘s safety. But most of time, those are just societal expectations, things that seem „normal“ for us to see, do, learn or experience at a specific demographic. It‘s not actually forbidden or bad to do it. And often it is the fear of the reaction of others, of feeling behind (or ahead of) others and not having optimal conditions to start. And we all know those conditions are not going to just be there and the fear will always be present, so there‘s nothing speaking against starting, really.

Thank you for reading! Let me know what you think or if you have something to add.
