why is when I play pokemon for some reason I cant finish it

I literally tried to play pokemon emerald like 4 times already and something always happens, like when i played it for the first time my computer got stolen, the second time my computer stopped working, another time my game got deleted AND NOWW i will try to play again but im losing motivation.

should I try splatoon?
