Hey there, hope you're having a nice day !!

Now, as a raging coffee enthusiast, I thought it'd be fun to share my coffee knowledge for those who might be interested. Choosing which drink to order/make can be very complicated at times, especially for new coffee enjoyers. Fear not, I'm here to help! เดฆเตเดฆเดฟ(หต โ€ขฬ€ แด— - หต ) โœง

Also, when ordering coffee, it's best that you order from local coffee shops instead of corporations. Most corporations are corrupt and their coffee usually tastes worse (from what I've heard, we don't really have those where I live). Besides, you'd be helping people out by ordering coffee from local shops :) People say they're more expensive, but this is not always the case. Be sure to check for yourself, though.ย

What type of coffee bean is better?

First and foremost, there are two main types of coffee beans you'll typically run into: Robusta and Arabica. But what is the difference?

Most coffee enjoyers, including myself, prefer the latter. Arabica is incredibly rich in flavor, less bitter, yet more expensive. This type of coffee bean is most often used for making black coffee, which I will talk about shortly.

Robusta is far more bitter than Arabica, yet way richer in caffeine. It's very strong, and your best option if you're trying to stay awake through a work night. This type of coffee bean is usually used for making espresso drinks, and even instant coffee !!

Overall, it really depends on preference. Feel free to choose for yourself.

Coffee drinks

Espresso:

Espresso isn't usually drank on it's own, and is often used as the main ingredient in many other coffee drinks. It's made up of two main ingredients: Finely ground coffee and hot water. Espresso is served in shots, and honestly if you drink this thing on its own, you're a psycopath an probably love torturing yourself. (It's me. I'm a psycopath.)

Double shot espresso:

Almost gave me a heart attack once. I'm not joking. If you're gonna drink this, prepare to have either the worst time of your life or the best.

Ristretto:

Espresso but with less water, so it tastes less hellish (not really).

Black:

Black coffee is one of the most simple coffee drinks. It's just ground up coffee beans steeped in hot water, and is served warm. However, due to how simple it is, quality is very important. Without high quality coffee, this drink can end up tasting downright disgusting.

Americano:

About the same flavor as black coffee (but worse, in my opinion). It's made up of a shot of espresso diluted in water. Literally just more bearable espresso.

Macchiato:

Basically espresso with a splash of milk just to take the intensity down a notch.

Latte:

Literally everyone orders this. It's made up of steamed milk and a shot of espresso, sometimes with a touch of foam. I'm personally not much of a fan, since I think it tastes somewhat bland, but I get the appeal.ย ย It can be enjoyed on it's own, but some places let you order it with a shot of flavor (like vanilla).

Cappuccino:

Foam. ALOT of it. There's more foam in this thing than milk. Basically the same thing as latte, but with way more foam. If that's your thing, you'll probably like this one. Honestly the only reason I used to order this was for the little bit of cocoa powder our local coffee shop sprinkled on the foam.

Galao:

Basically a Cappuccino with EVEN more foam. Not alot of places serve this, though.

Mocha:

Some people mistake this with Hot chocolate (somehow), it's not. Mocha is basically latte with a little bit of chocolate syrup in it. The syrup usually takes forever to mix, or just doesn't at all, but some coffee shops make it with cocoa powder. If you like chocolate and don't want your coffee to be too bitter, this is a pretty good choice.

Affogato:

It's a 90% chance that your friends will make fun of you for ordering this, but who cares when it's good? Affogato is made up of a scoop of ice-cream along with a shot of espresso or two. Drinking it usually gets very messy, though. Don't tell me I didn't warn you.

Instant-coffee:

Drinking this also brings along a high chance that your friends will bully you. Most coffee enjoyers DESPISE this thing, because its usually made of low quality coffee beans. Instant coffee is made by brewing coffee, then drying it in large quantities. Cut it some slack though, it's pretty cheap and accessible. Honestly I actually don't hate instant coffee, though that may be due to the fact that I grew up with it. I don't think it's all that bad, and when there's no coffee on hand, It's a good replacement.

Caramel-Macchiato:

The love of my life. People never talk about it, but this drink is absolutely holy and must be worshipped. All jokes aide though, it's well. It's in the name, a Macchiato with a caramel drizzle. If made right, it's the perfect heavenly balance between sweet and bitter. If not it will probably taste hellish, so be careful where you order it from...

Iced-coffee

Iced-coffee is as the name suggests, coffee with ice (Usually a scam from coffee shops to serve you less coffee, but anyway).ย  I still drink it though, usually since I don't feel like letting my coffee cool down.

There's also this thing called cold brew, made with cold milk. Most people don't add ice in it, but some do.

Decaf.

Coffee without the coffee.

Just don't order this.

Ever.

"oH bUt ItS heALtHier !!"

Shut up.

Anyways, Thanks for reading through my rant !! If there's any of your favorite coffee flavors I missed, or anything I left out in general, feel free to let me know.

Have a nice day :)

Omg lowk I know it's a tragic take but I'm a huge fan of instant coffe ToTT...it's just so convenient when you're rushing to get to work, need some caffeine, and also don't want to spend money you don't need to at a coffee shop...

Yeah I get that, it's way more accessible lol. I'm guilty of using it myself most of the time too (แด—_ แด—ใ€‚)

I enjoyed reading your post! Honestly, I haven't drank coffee in a year due to my acid being triggered by it, but I would like to go back to drinking it (โ•ฅ๏นโ•ฅ)! Back when I was a lot younger (like around my teens) I drink coffee like JUICE! And on my first year of college, I drink it like its water, with instant coffee and caramel macchiato being my top two (OMG fellow caramely macchiato enjoyer <3!). Now, I can't handle it!

Maybe you have any recommendations for someone like me? With less caffeine?

I actually have a friend who's like that, and for them low acid coffee (like dark roast) works really well! There are some brands that produce low acid coffee beans that irritate the stomach way less. Though as a full replacement for coffee, tea is actually not a bad choice, it really gets me running. You should see what works out best for you :)
