When the situation is that the music is good but the artist is a problematic person or just a straight up criminal, it's real difficult and it makes me sad
Music is amazing, but how people react when an artist is a bad person, they either:
Abandon the artist and their songs
Hate the artist but listen to their songs
And so on
Whatever decision you take, you have a red dot on your forehead right away

yeah, this sadly isn't a new thing. it just comes down to having critical thinking/knowing about the history of the band and not agreeing with what certain band member(s) have done, while also still enjoying the music they have produced. both ideas are true and can exist at the same time yknow

It sucks because If you still listen your "supporting them with money" sorry but js bc so and so said he was racist back in 90 B.C....doesnt mean their music is bad...maybe theve changed and everyone no matter what deserves a meal.
A good example of this is ICP one of the members is.....and his GF is a lowk sexualizing kids.... but the other guy is chill from what I know so why shld I stop listening to them because of 1 of the members, also MSI..Love their music, main singer is NOT a good person. Melanie too, I like her music, even if its not her experiences ok well its mine so what. Its music I originally related to so why is it any different now, the fact we related is enough to say she wrote it well (I'm not backing anyone up but I don't understand the idea of "supporting for listening" also I'm not gonna take the time to go to a whole new website/app just bc ONE artist decided they wanted to diddle a 17 yr old while being 25....the other ppl in my playlist are fine js leave me alone. Plus 1 person leaving isn't gonna make her/him/they bankrupt.
another side note some artists strive on causing issues (shock factor) COUGH COUGH MSI COUGH
