Freaks (2012 remastered): overall score: 8/10 (has some insanely good songs. And some… really bad ones)
1. Fairground. 2/10 this is the worst Pulp song ive heard. It’s so cringey. I hate HATE the laughing part… it is… so cringey..
2. I want You 9.5/10 I swear ive heard this song before… but i dont know what.. it’s so good, the chorus is especially amazing, Jarvis’s singing is good too. -0.5 because it doesn’t sound like Pulp, despite how good it is.
3. Being Followed Home 7.5/10: It’s a good song and… ummm yeah im not always in the mood for this one
4. Master of the universe 7.9/10 I really like the atmosphere and sounds of this song, the lyrics are just.. alright. It’s a good song but its just.. alright
5. Life Must Be So Wonderful 8.5/10 Actually a very good song. Some parts are amazing, others are just alright
6. There’s No Emotion : 8/10 I dont listen to it a lot and its not very engraved in my brain but it is good
7. Anorexic Beauty 8.5/10 (i know this is a controversial song. At least on r/PulpBand) But this is actually the first Pulp song ive ever listened to, without even realizing it’s Pulp. It doesnt sound like Pulp, and Russel Senior actually sings this one. But it is a good song, and I do listen to it.
8. The Never Ending Story 7/10: Not bad.. but not good either. It’s just alright.
9. Don’t You Know 9.7/10 such an amazing song. it’s the song I have autoplaying on my page (or not. I might’ve removed that code…) anyways the vibes are kind of similar to My Lighthouse by Pulp. I love the instrumentals on this, and the derrrnnnnnnn part (Idk how to describe it T-T) anyways I love it its amazing
10. They Suffocate At Night 7.5/10: An alright song, I like the vibes of this…
11. Little Girl with blue eyes 9.5/10: a good song, because of the backstory and the lyrics (yes Jarvis Cocker is a lyrical genius) and also because it sounds more like 90s/later Pulp compared to the rest of this album. +0.5 points because Candida (my queen) sings backing vocals (I might do another blog about the meaning and backstory of some songs)
That’s the end of part 1! See part 2 for the rest of the songs! (I’ve got hw… GArghGHHGHGhhh I’ll finish this later)
