I’m planning a commentary style video where I talk about the history of country music as a genre and why do people that say they hate country music love songs like John Denver’s “Country Roads” and Carrie Underwood’s “Before he Cheats”. I also wanted to go over how artists like Johnny Cash, despite his music being praised by country haters, is considered country music.
I would just like some insight on how the public at large views country music to be used for research and potentially in the video itself. Feel free to share what you think about country music in the comments, and I might even put your inquiries in the video!
Thank you and God Bless,

I usually stay in my bubble of backwoods country music like Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, and Poor Mans Poison but I did grow up with my grandmother having the country radio station on all the time so I do have a bias to like the sound of bro/pop country, but not love it.
I personally think that social media caused an echo chamber of a bunch of people hating on radio country for being "trump supporting" and "beating your wife music" which caused an overinflated idea of the amount of people hating country along with younger people that have not listened to it to form a second hand opinion that causes them to not explore the genre.
Also, pop country just straight up sucks ass lmao.
