I feel like smartphones have ruined the way we look at pictures. It's made making and retaking pictures so easy, we all have thousands of photos on our phones at all times. Sometimes retaking the same picture 5 times to get the perfect snapshot, and yes, that's cool and convenient, but it has lost any meaning. I personally must have more than 10.000 pictures on my phone, yet I barely look at any of them because there's so much unnecessary crap that it has drowned out the important stuff.
That's why I'm going through my entire phone and deleting any photo's that don't have any significance to me, effectively trying to make my phone into the equivalent of an old-fashioned photo album. I've also bought an old second-hand digital camera with which I wanna try and make more pics. I feel like it's a way more deliberate choice to make a picture that way. There's also beauty in taking a single photo and embracing however it came out, like we did with film. It feels much more honest that way, less fake maybe
I don't know if any of this makes any sense, it's just some ramblings I've had in my head today

This makes total sense! I just bought a digital camera last week and took it out with friends and it was so nice to be more deliberate! I also went through my phone’s photos and put them into albums to separate them from things like memes and screenshots. It’s encouraging seeing others doing the same thing.
Cool!! I think slowly but surely, people are starting to get tired of modern technology. It's too much, too quickly, and nobody can keep up with it. I've seen more and more people turn back to physical media as well, dvd's, cd's and even crt tv's! I think it's a really interesting trend, and I hope it keeps spreading

Yesss I totally second that. I’ve thought about starting to get physical media again too. I am definitely starting to purchase more physical books. I’m thinking about getting CDs and possibly an MP3 player too but I do really love Spotify so I haven’t been able to justify that purchase just yet.
