why are people so rude nowadays

no matter what person they're talking to, it seems like they're rude as hell to them. I know you should love yourself and out yourself in the first place, but it's just crossing some borders IMO.

like last year, I've been put somehow outside of any friendships because... apparently, I am not like the others and nobody finds me interesting. and thank god they don't, because if I were constantly picked on, I'd go mad. even so called "best friends" are rude as hell to each other. I am not even talking about how everyone treats teachers and other elders.

lately I started to wear more colorful and cluttered outfits to school because I want to feel comfortable by being myself. today someone tried to say something rude about it, but I just couldn't understand: is being unique not cool anymore? I thought as kids we all wanted to stand out and inspire others to be like us. why do now we have to shame everyone who is slightly different?

like is there even anything that is considered 'not cringe'?
