ABNT

First of all, good morning. Secondly, I simply have no words to describe how much I hate the ABNT rules. For those who don’t know, ABNT stands for “Brazilian Association of Technical Standards,” which is basically a set of formatting rules for academic papers that only exists in Brazil. I simply hate doing papers and documents following these rules. I spent the whole afternoon yesterday working on a crappy document about the Paralympics for the teacher. I almost lost it. And, of course, we can thank Getúlio Vargas — a Brazilian president who approved these rules back in 1940 — for making students’ lives miserable. That’s it, sending you light and love.
