Craving something comforting and flavorful? Here’s my take on Oyster Mushroom Posto Curry, cooked with boiled potatoes, creamy poppy seed paste, and aromatic spices – all without onion or garlic.
Here’s a step-by-step recipe for my special Oyster Mushroom Posto Curry:
Ingredients & Method
Oyster Mushrooms – 400 g (cleaned & blanched)
Blend: 50 g poppy seeds + 3–4 green chilies + water → smooth paste
Boiled Potatoes → fry with a pinch of turmeric & red chili powder (no extra salt, already added while boiling) → remove and keep aside
In the same pan, add whole spices: cinnamon, bay leaves, cardamom, cloves
Sauté 3 chopped onions until golden
Add 1 tsp turmeric + 1 tsp cumin powder → mix in the poppy seed paste → cook on low until fragrant
Add mushrooms & potatoes → pour in water as needed for gravy
Season with salt → simmer gently for 8–10 mins
For the final touch: heat mustard oil in a separate pan → fry whole dry red chilies & curry leaves → pour tadka over the curry
Turn off heat. Serve hot with rice or roti 🍚🍛
✨ This dish is rich, comforting, and full of flavors – without being too heavy.
