Genre: Club/Tech House
Standout track: Vasudevas Wonderland
Two song 12" from a Spanish producer whose back catalogue betrays an interest in Indian mythology and Hinduism. The A-side track Mental Jazz is (appropriately enough) a laconically jazzy affair with ambient swells that shapeshift subtly between sublime and spooky. The B-side Vasudevas Wonderland is a post-Balearic dance, it's gentle 4x4 beats and stripped-down synths ebb and weave warmth and chilliness in equal measure.

Honggap, Dream Edit
Genre: Indie/Guitar Pop
Standout track: Children's Day
One of my favourites from South Korean label Electric Muse. I must confess I'm not all that familiar with the intricacies of Korean musical trends, other than how overwhelmingly popular they are across Europe and North America of course! I bring that up because despite the language difference, this sounds uncannily like a product of a twee British dream pop group. Or maybe the kind of thing Elefant Records likes to put out.

Chester Watson, A Japanese Horror Film
Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
Standout track: Porcelain Geisha (feat. FiFi Rong)
"Everyone vibing concerts like a sermon
Some people are sneaky they scurry like vermin.
You try describe me don’t know what the term is
Enigma, a beast with the beats and the words..."
I'm sure any proper hip-hop fans reading this are more than likely fully aware of this gentleman, but I'm notoriously off-the-case in regards to up-and-coming rappers and beat makers. This man's world-weary yet precise flow is awesome to hear, accompanied by the kind of moody broken-beat trip hop that DJ Krush or o k h o specialise in, it's taken to a whole other plane of existence.
"Turned 22, it felt like an emergence
Don’t hang with losers, don’t like the inertia That’s when Geisha gave me something purple
Hella wavy i think i feel the Earth move
Dipped from the place started smokin some herbal
Walked to the lake i saw ghosts in rehearsal..."
