Concert Qs and As (Secret Share Answers + Link) ˚⊹♡

Hi my silly angel babies.

I asked last night for people to send me questions about the concert I went to 4 months ago because I've been thinking about it a lot lately and don't have anyone to talk to directly about it.

AND BOY DID YOU FOLLOW THROUGH. I can't wait to answer these.

Q: What band/ artist did you see? How big was the crowd? What genre is the artist u went to see? Do u get anxious being in the crowd? Standing or sitting seats? Which do u prefer? Going to a concert soon and I’m a bit worried…

A: I saw Avi Kaplan! If you don't know him he's kind of an indie folk artist. He's really great and I've been a massive fan of his for almost 10 years now. This most recent show I attended was my second time seeing him but this time blew the last time fully out of the water. Being that he's sort of underground, the crowds at his shows are easily contained in smaller spaces. A lot of people came to both shows I attended, and even though I have severe panic disorder and OCD, I didn't feel anxious in the crowd either time! For me it's more about focusing on what's happening in front of you instead of being overly conscious about everyone else. This particular venue was an old theatre building with multiple floors and in the room this show was held in, they had seating options both on the floor and up in the balcony seats, but I had a VIP pass and wanted to be as close as possible to the stage because las time I saw the artist I was pretty far away. There are pros and cons to sitting and standing. Sitting is obviously more comfortable but if you'd like to be close to the stage, standing is the way to go. I totally understand about being worried for concerts, but know that you're gonna have a great time!

In fact, here are some general concert tips:

1.) WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. Even if you don't think you'll be doing much walking, you may be sorely mistaken. Don't be like me. I wore heeled boots because I wanted to look cunty at the show and had to walk for about 40 minutes total and it was ABSOLUTE TORTURE. My feet were torn up for DAYS. I definitely suggest comfortable tennis shoes or sandals like Birkenstocks. Whatever suits your outfit but makes your feet not feel like death.
2.) If you want to dress up, absolutely dress up. Not only will you feel more confident, but you'll also have more fun!! And you also might get compliments from people for looking cool which is always very nice.
3.) Buy merch if you can! Of course this isn't a mandatory thing but I still wear merch from a concert I went to in 2022 regularly it's one of my favorite shirts ever just because of the memories attached to it.
4.) Bring a small bag with emergency essentials. This has saved my ass so many times. You won't lose your phone, and you can keep things like emergency period supplies, hand sanitizer, and other important things like your ID in there without having to carry it in your hands.
5.) Try to find a good balance between taking in the show with your eyes only and being respectful to the artist, and filming for safe keeping. I feel like artists appreciate it more when you're actually enjoying the show rather than just filming the entire thing, as much as you may wanna film all of it.
6.) If you do film, don't sing in your videos. I learned this the hard way. Oof.
7.) Have fun and be present!!!

Q: Was it inside or outside, was it hot? Or no

A: This show was inside. Up literally 5 flights of stairs. I was not told that that was how it was going to be. Like I said, wear comfortable shoes so you don't die like me. Also neither!! The temperature was really comfortable. I think it's because May is a really mild month so it was easy to temperature control the entire thing. I will say I did get rained on on the walk to the venue. But it wasn't too bad. Just as a little aside I did attend an outdoor concert in September in 2018 and that was pretty comfortable too!! The show did almost get cancelled though due to heat lightning and unpredictable weather but that didn't happen and all went well. Lol.

A: What was the concert?

Q: Avi Kaplan's Move Our Souls tour!! :)
