Rant about the education system in america

I hate how the education system is set up, and even more so I hate how when children and teens rightfully complain about how awful school is that they're always shut down with some nihilistic shit from adults that go "oh you think thats bad? Just wait til you have to work like me!" People who say this treat it like some kinda gotcha when its really not, school and working as an adult both suck, its just that these adults live such a miserable life constantly working that school was great in comparison, but that doesn't mean it didn't suck its just the lesser of two awfuls

Children and teen and adults (for those in college) complain or talk about how terrible school is but everyone acts like its just a necessary system rather than realizing "hey maybe if all our population has the same complains about this system theres actually a problem"

The biggest issue with the school system (alongside alot of other things in our world) is that it doesn't treat humans like humans, it treats us like worker bees or robots. We are genuinely expected to adhere to the exact same formatted lesson plans across the entire board. You have three weeks to learn snd understand this subject, got it down? No? Well now we're moving on to the next lesson so you better keep up. Kids shouldn't even have to be expected to spend extra hours of time outside of school trying to understand a subject when they should be able to do all that within the school itself, and they'd be able to spend more time learning at the pace they need if they weren't chained to this strict regimine, and dont even get my started on the grading system, grading is so inherently terrible, all it does it fuck with students self esteem as they are taught to place value on themselves based on how high their grade is. The system we are in doesn't actually encourage education, it just encourages the right grade points. People don't go to these schools with the first goal being getting education and learning something new its making sure they have the right grade points to stay on track. Its no wonder so much of what is taught in schools gets forgotten

And then theres college, it is abhorrent to me that it is a common and ignored thing that college students are regularly starving, or lacking proper nutrition. The more i think about it the more disgusted i feel, they shouldn't have to do that at all, especially considering they're pursuing higher education, yaknow, the thing that you'd probably need proper nutrition and food intake in order to properly handle. Yet people just joke about it like its just a natural way of life when it really shouldn't be at all. College students shouldn't live on ramen noodles packages or hot dogs on a good day because they're so broke. No one should have to starve at all.

Education would actually be so much more fun and enjoyable for a vast majority of the population if this horrible system was just fixed, stop making it so strict, send kids to school and let them learn different subjects in class at their own pace, instead of teachers being strict regulators of the yearly lesson plan let them be mentors that guides students to certain subjects and helps them along the way, pay teachers more, give teachers education on different methods of learning children and teens experience, let children and teenages have more time to be social.
