upcoming project xP

so basically.. i have this oil painting i have to do for class and although im a traditional artist..... oil paint is not one of my preferred mediums! its beautiful when its done but the time it takes to do it and to let it dry can be a bit overwhelming for me, not to mention i dont paint very often, i mainly sketch. even when its digital i mainly sketch! does anyone have any tips on how to make oil painting more bearable???
