Musings on a story lost on the internet, Dare's Story. (TW for abuse)

Mid July, 2025, on a flight home from a vacation, I read something that changed me forever.

I found this story because it happened to be tagged with a fetish I enjoy, other tags were very dark and odd in nature, but I was curious. I neglected to notice the story's 250,000 word girth or its place as part 5 in a now discontinued former Criminal Minds fanficiton.

Dare's story.

Now, be aware, I was expecting an erotic if eccentric story.

This story begins with our main character, Dare's father being shot and Dare being taken to a terrifying place he does not know. The physical, sexual and mental toture that ensues is anything but erotic, but the way that they are written makes it impossible to stop reading.

It becomes a psychological horror story about a man in a terrible human trafficking system using his wits, charisma, and a lot of masking his emotions to carve out a place for himself where he can survive. Even with his memories stolen and his body deformed, he survives in the terrible hellscape he is placed in.

It is in equal parts terrible and amazing, and it feels almost impossible to get an idea of why. Why did the author write this? Why did the author tag this with things like "blood kink" and "first time" when the author seemingly has no purpose to arouse the reader but rather to break down your ideas of eroticism and spit in the face of your fantasies. I believe that tricking the reader is the very purpose of the story.

This story, or rather book asks the question "what if you forced someone to conform to your fantasies?" and forces you to watch through the eyes of a regular man forced to become a living conversation piece in body and mind.

I realized when I read it that I was alone in reading it in 2025. The author leaves no trail and has practically vanished off the face of the internet.

Read it. I don't want to be alone.
