God, please help me

 I want to vanish in the daylight,

to drift into my mind at night,

a place where it doesn’t hurt,

where your shadow never learned to walk away.

Here in my head,

the letters are still sealed,

the words are still whole,

and you still reach for me.

Out there I’m breaking,

a ghost inside my own skin,

hungry for air,

tired of pretending I’m fine.

I don’t want to die forever,

I just want to stop this noise,

live inside my mind for a while

where the world is still soft

and you 

never left me alone
