It's been close to a month since I blogged. Not that I think too many people check my stuff out but I like typing anyway...
Sales of my new cd MOOD SWINGS have been picking up slowly again. After the initial wave of orders over the summer, things slowed down a bit. Well, a lot. But then when I announced more interviews and new signature glow-in-the-dark guitar picks, CD sales started up again. That happens, I guess. Ebb and flow is the name of the game.
Was supposed to play a benefit show with the cover band Naked Glory on Dec 11 but I was told that a couple of bands on the bill did not want me around. As lame as that sounds, it is very true. So Naked Glory dropped off the bill in "protest", I suppose. But still, it was a BENEFIT concert, not a battle of the bands. It's not 1984 anymore, where bands think they will be discovered, signed, and opening for Iron Maiden. Local bands in general tend to be rather back-stabby and there's no need for it. (Cover bands are worse with competition than original bands, if you can believe it...) So while I will be doing a show here and there with Naked Glory, it's obvious my main focus is my own band.
My trio, featuring Attacker drummer Mike Sabatini and bassist Brian Smith, had its last rehearsal of 2021 a week ago. And let me tell you, each rehearsal is getting better and tighter, and HEAVIER! We have seven of the eight songs on the set list down pretty good, so when we get back in action on January 2nd (provided no more lockdowns happen), we should be good to go. Hoping to play live starting in March/April 2022.
If anyone is reading this and is curious, here's a track from MOOD SWINGS called "Force Quit". Crank it up...

Merry Christmas and let's hope 2022 is better than the past couple of years...sheesh!
