I was born in 2010, so I didn't really get to see "old internet", but I grew up on flash games. Girlsgogames, coolmathgames, ect. I loved how easy it was to access things for free. I love blogging which is a dying art now. I hear a lot about 2000s internet and I genuinely wish I was able to experience it. The strange YouTube videos, the weird social experiments, where everyone was able to make a website with ease and HTML was easily learned and worked on.Β
I don't know if this is weird, like a stupid wish to have but I do genuinely want that back.Β

im 19 but had unlimited access to the internet since i was like 5, so since around 2010, not technically the 2000s but anyways i miss it. imo the things that ruined the internet r corporations and news programs turning to social media, ragebait/clickbait aka engagement bait because of how algorithms work, short form content, and everything becoming saturated and turned into trends that die very quickly. the internet is way too complicated now and doesnt feel βpersonalβ or βrealβ to me if that makes sense. algorithms also favor the big creators who bring the most views so small creators/ normal ppl dont get seen.

yeah and it wasn't as overrun with companies + corporations, I hate seeing companies try to act like regular users and be ''quirky''/ funny or whatever, it gives me the creeps
