GAY FREAKING BOOK MY GOD (Picture of Dorian Gray)

OK uh spoilers for "The Picture of Dorian Gray", its like a one hundred year old book but still just in case I guess?? This is a analysis sort of, although it isn't set up professionally so, no I am not paying attention to any spelling errors, run on sentences, or other grammatical errors, peace and love. I just want to talk about this lalalala:

See, i knew "The Picture of Dorian Gray" was gay going in, I UNDERESTIMATED THE EXTENT OF IT OH MY GOD. I am reading it for my AP Literature class like. Why do they have some freaky love triangle going on bro

Some kinda quotes off the top of my head I'm not looking at the book and I'm only just starting chapter four:

"He could see why Basil Hallword Worshiped him"

"Tilt your head a little to the right Dorian, like a good boy"

"He wanted to domainte dorian- he had already, half done so"

There's also a whole bit where Dorian is just FIXATED, on lord henery as he speaks, it being referred to like "he was cast under a spell", and then at the end of the bit he insists that he comes with lord henery wherever he may be going because "no one speaks like you do" (poor basil by the way Dorian was supposed to go hang out with him... puts on "Good luck, babe" by Chappel Roan)

Also Dorian gets compared to peices of greek myth alot, something that is incredibly romanticized by the way but thats a separate yap because blah blah blah yes I am analyzing this text chapter by chapter ANYWAY.

Greek myth is so incredibly gay, like so fruity they invented fruity at this point (/j), Dorian gets compared to narcissius like in the first three pages, who was known to be the most beautiful man ever, who had both men and woman tripping over their own feet for him, and dying by their own hands because he was so harsh with every rejection he provided. Yes he is also the guy who got cursed to look at his reflection in the water till he died, as it was his karma provided by the god of karma deciding that like. "Fine if you want to be a bitch make out with yourself go die". Also where the word narcissist came from if you couldn't tell.

Dorian getting compared to this obviously tells us where he is going in life because of book foreshadowing. But it also shows us how quickly he can entrap people in his youthful beauty, because its lord henery who says the first thing, and then LATER ON, lord henery says "he could be a titan or a toy" after again calling dorian a greek statue.

Onto the titan part first, titans were the first things before the greek pantheon we know and love, and are technically above them. So basically lord henery is implying he is above the gods and then i can connect that back to the worship line I mentioned blah blah blah-

The toy part gives us lord henerys power in their dynamic, as lord henerys favorite thing is to play people like a fiddle and he's favoring dorian right now. He actually has a line referencing it thats really fruity but I only remember the end part of "He reacted to each touch and thrill of the bow..." or whatever.

Case and point they are gay as hell, and i have only addressed one side of the triangle this whole time because I think lord henery and dorians dynamic is intresting.

Basil and Dorians are to, I can't get a current read on if Dorian even.. likes basil all that much? But i know basil is like a lost dog for dorian, following at his feet for scraps and giving him all the love he can. I think alot of their relationship can be summed up after this one little bit. Basically after lord henery told dorian that he was going to grow old and Grey one day and his beauty wouldn't last forever and dorian geeked out.

Basil let's frustrated with lord henery because he loved all hia paintings of Dorian, and now dorian was crying over the painting he just made because it would be beautiful forever and he wouldn't. So he goes to destroy it for dorians sake- but dorian stops him and says its a lovely painting, and that (i think) all his paintings are lovely because they capture him so well. Basil admits he never thought dorian would think of them that way and decides to let the painting live.

Why i think this sums them up? Well in the first chapter basil admits that his paintings hold a very deep and vulnerable part of him, so when he admits he thought dorian didn't like that as much, didn't like his heart, he is basically admitting that regardless of thinking this, he has still made painting after painting for him, giving him piece after peice of his heart. And, yeah I think that does sum up their dynamic pretty soundly.

As for the other side of the triangle? I am not sure where to start really on with lord henery and basil, other then the fact lord henery only likes the good and beauty in life, and basil captures it with the skill and love of an artist, so it is not shocking they are close.

This book is so fruity my god, no wonder the author got found out for being gay the closet is glass.
