The 800m race

On Saturday, 27 September, I ran an event called Top 15, hosted by my school. It was a track event that lasted two days and consisted on 1500 athletes and more or less 50 schools. It was hectic.

And keep in mind, I have NEVER ran a track race, I'm barely trained, I'm just overall slow and I don't have the strongest heart, so this race.. was hard. Really hard. I ran at 10:30am and it was really hot that day. I didn't have spikes so I had the extra weight of my shoes.

So, I ran the 800m in 3:30 with a 4:18/km pace and DIED. I was so embarrassingly slow, but it felt so horrible I was so dizzy and faint and I couldn't breath. When I crossed the finishing line I collapsed on the ground.. embarrassing.. but anyway, I'm just glad I did it, now I know where I am in terms of fitness and best believe I have some work to do..

But regardless, the track was beautiful, people were nice, and going to support on friday was so much fun even though I was there from 1:30pm to 9:30pm.

Congrats!! It's great that you had fun nonetheless. Same story when me and my friends sign up for a basketball tournament, knowing that most of us couldn't play. Well we got off dualling with the most formidable team but our defense was so dense and clueless that it actually worked. We got 3 points and they got 4, close call.
